Official Statement from WACHA
On Sakura Matcha and the Future of Tea Rituals
On March 18, 2026, WACHA launched its limited spring product, “SAKURA MATCHA”, which sold out immediately after release.

We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming response, especially the growing interest in the act of preparing matcha by hand.
What WACHA seeks to offer is not simply a beverage.
Matcha is not just something to drink.
It is an experience — created through the act of whisking.
Pouring hot water, moving the hands, creating foam.
In this quiet process, there is a moment to reconnect with oneself.
We believe this ritual holds a meaningful place in modern life.
Sakura Matcha was created as an entry point —
a way to rediscover this cultural experience through the symbolism of cherry blossoms.
The immediate sell-out was not just a product success.
It may reflect a subtle but important shift —
from consumption to participation,
from drinking to engaging.
We see this as a sign that Japanese tea culture is beginning to move again, in a new form.
WACHA will continue to explore and share this evolving ritual —
bringing the act of whisking into everyday life, both in Japan and around the world.
